Skill Development and Entrepreneurship development efforts across the country have been highly fragmented so far. Though India enjoys the demographic advantage of having the youngest workforce with an average age of 29 years in comparison with the advanced economies, as opposed to the developed countries, where the percentage of skilled workforce is between 60% and 90% of the total workforce, India records a low 5% of workforce (20-24 years) with formal employability skills. AWARDS has conducted various Skill development programs like, communication skills training, Computer training programs, Tailoring, Art and craft and etc to 1200 candidates to improve their skill and secure an earnings for the family.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR MINORITIES: AWARDS has conducted free coaching to 500 students belonging to minority community to empower the students to prepare them for competitive examinations, so that their participation in government and private jobs improves.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING IN RETAIL SECTOR: India is the 5th largest destination in retail space and is expected to grow at US $950 billion by 2018. This sector has witnessed a rapid growth in implementation of employee training programmes as front-line associates have a major and immediate influence over consumers buying decisions. Hence, we have conducted retail training for 400 candidates across Nellore Dist.
General Duty Assistant (GDA): GDA is one who provides patient care and helps maintain a suitable environment. Some of the key responsibilities are to provide patient’s daily care, comfort, safety and health needs. A GDA works in collaboration with doctors and nurses and other healthcare providers and deliver the healthcare services as suggested by them. A GDA is result oriented. He/she demonstrates basic patient care skills, communication skills and ethical behaviour while working in the clinics in shifts. Hence, we have conducted GDA training for 300 candidates across Nellore Dist.
